The Colosseum, also know as Anfiteatro Flavio, is probably the main symbol of Rome. This gigantic arena built between 72 and 80 A.C. represents one of the major tourist attractions of Rome, a must for those who want to immerse themselves in the majesty of the Roman imperial period.

The ticket for the Colosseum also allows you to visit the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill and has a duration of 48h

Tips for the visit:

The Colosseum area also includes the Imperial Forum and the Palatine Hill. To access thiese three locations you only have to buy one ticket. Keep in mind that even if the ticket is just one in the area you will find three different ticket shops (one for each location). This is a very important information because it's easy to find long queues at the Colosseum's ticket shop. If that happens just move on one of the other two shops where you will be able to buy the same ticket with a shorter queue. The whole visit usually require about 4 hours. You can also find several tour guides under the Colosseum that you can hire for a guided tour (the prices are various ~ 40-50€ per person).
